I made the shift to these throughout my home about two years ago and have been very pleased with the results - both in my lighting bill and the life of the bulbs - plus the bonus of not having to constantly replace standard incandescent bulbs.
This bulb puts out as much illumination and light as a standard 60 watt incandescent or tungsten bulb but on consumes 13 watts of power!
In that length of time I have only had to replace one light - and it was an off-brand - not this quality GE bulb.
When you look at the cost of these bulbs it not really that difficult a decision to make - do you want to pay the power company or invest in your own savings and protect the environment at the same time!
